Transit wheelchairs are for those unable to propel themselves and to enable attendant/carer to push the user. Within these two categories, a wide range of wheelchairs are available in both chrome steel and in lightweight aluminium and include models for the heavier user as well as a version with a fully reclining backrest. Various options are available, such as detachable and flip back lift up armrests, fixed or swing away detachable footrests, folding backrests, elevating leg rests and quick release rear wheels.
