What Cover do I Get?
Scooters and powerchairs are made to a very high standard and are incredibly robust, but, like any vehicle with electrical and mechanical components they can occasionally go wrong. It can be a very worrying and distressing experience for you if your vehicle breaks down and you are left stranded away from home.
Because we recognise this, First Senior have formed a partnership with First Call GB Ltd to give you a breakdown recovery service that you can really depend on. In the event of a breakdown - you simply call our FREEPHONE number - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. First Call GB Ltd will organise a recovery truck that will take you and your product home - normally in under an hour. Summary of Cover • This exclusive recovery service provides assistance following electrical or mechanical breakdown of your vehicle. Immobilisation of your vehicle as a result of an accident, tyre puncture, flat battery, vandalism or attempted theft. • Gets you and your vehicle back to your home address up to a maximum of 10 miles. • Gets you and your vehicle back to your temporary address (or holiday home) up to a maximum of 10 miles as long as the address is in the UK. • A maximum of 4 call outs per year. • For all Class 2 and 3 electric pavement vehicles and electric wheelchairs • Service available 24 hours a day - seven days a week. • Coverage throughout the UK including Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. IMPORTANT - Please see main exclusions and limitations. Ensure that you read fully before you complete the application form Exclusions & Limitations Breakdown Cover will not cover the following: A) The service cannot be provided if you need medical assistance in transferring from your vehicle to the recovery vehicle B) Vehicles that have not been regularly serviced or breakdown as a result of inadequate repair or unauthorised repairs by untrained technicians and/or re-occurring claim where no remedial action has been taken to correct the fault C) Any Liability or consequential loss arising from any act performed in the execution of the breakdown services required D) Any fines or penalties imposed by courts E) Vehicles immersed in mud, snow, sand or water F) Any claim arising from the first 48 hours from the date of inception G) The cost of replacement parts or materials used in the repair H) Toll charges, ferry charges, parking charges, traffic congestion charges I) Loss of keys J) The policy is non refundable after the first 14 days of inception and only then if no claim has been made K) Breakdowns where your vehicle is not accessible or cannot be transported safely, legally and without hindrance using a standard transporter or trailer L) More than four call outs per year This scheme has been exclusively prepared for First Senior Insurance Services Ltd, Unit 8, Cotswold Business Park, Millfield Lane, Caddington, Bedfordshire LU1 4AR.
