You know sometimes there are things that you think you cant live with them but actually you cant live without them.  Thats how I am with my crutches.  They always seem to be in the way, but without them  I would be completely confined to my wheelchair.  Of course it is vital that they are set up properly otherwise they can be damageing. When used properly they are much more supportive and steady than just a walking stick and it is easier to stand or walk with them.  During my loss of mobility I started with one stick then two but in time found that my range became severely limited until I started using a pair of cruthces.  True my range is still very limited and has become more so with continued deterioation but my crutches still give a level of mobility sufficient to get around a bit at home and to use my wheelchair carried in the back of my car.  They don't cost much so if you think they would help give us a call or order some to give them a try.
